About the Course:

Crenshaw Cliffside Golf Course

Austin’s native son Ben Crenshaw and fellow golf course architect Bill Coore designed this links-style golf course utilizing the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Rolling hills, natural plateaus, soft contours and native vegetation are harmoniously woven into a playable championship layout that provides a variety of interesting holes to delight members and visitors alike.

The Crenshaw Cliffside Golf Course offers generous fairways but challenges golfers with their approach to large, well-contoured greens. The course is both forgiving for the novice and challenging for the seasoned golfer.

Shuttle Bus to Downtown Austin

Shopping? Lunch? Dinner plans? For your convenience, a complimentary group shuttle bus will be provided to transport attendees from the Resort to downtown Austin (and back) on both Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday afternoon. Departure and Return times will be determined at a later date.

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

It was during the LBJ Presidency that Lady Bird Johnson used her role as office of the First Lady to bring awareness of our country's imperiled environment. As First Lady, she recognized an opportunity to start a national revitalization effort, and she fought to make America more beautiful by restoring and protecting our natural habitats. She made headlines by planting bulbs and trees on roadsides and parkways, and called attention to the growing crisis created by "habitat and species loss." It was in 1965 that Congress passed the Highway Beautification Act also known as "Lady Bird's Bill."

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center was founded in 1982 by Lady Bird Johnson and the late Helen Hayes. It is dedicated to protecting and preserving North America's native plants and naturlal landscapes. Its mission is one to educate people about the environmental necessity, economic value, and natural beauty of native plants - guides all that we do. Every day, the Wildflower Center's horticulture, restoration, conservation and environmental education programs bring life to Mrs. Johnson's vision in our gardens and natural areas, and with projects across North America.

The tour includes the history and the mission of the Wildflower Center, Lady Bird Johnson's legacy, the roles native plants in our lives, architecture, rainwater collection, and natural history of the Central Texas Hill Country.
